Merkur "Zwergerlschutz" - Getting the best possible start
Security right from the start: With Merkur "Zwergerlschutz", newborns enjoy comprehensive cover from birth, with no health check, no waiting period and no exclusion of benefits; a premium supplement for restrictions/illnesses would be permitted if necessary.
And best of all: the insurance is premium-free for the first year of life!
For existing policies of a parent in the Optimum or Novum special class, there is the option of co-insuring newborns within one month of birth without rejection or risk exclusion. The prerequisite for subsidised co-insurance is the conclusion of a tariff, at most to the same extent as that of the parent. The insurance must commence on the 1st of the month of birth.
Prerequisite for the provision of benefits: The "Zwergerlschutz" must have been in place with an adult premium at the time the pregnancy occurred.
